Project description
Ghent University has opted to renovate several buildings. One such building is the 'Technicum', which houses, among others, a library, a PC hub, the political and social sciences departments, classrooms, seminar rooms, an audiovisual centre and the central services (administration).
Ingenium defined the preliminary technical concept, put together a complete tender specifications file and assisted the client in supervising the site.
The project is connected up to the energy supplier's existing heating network. The majority of the heat distribution units take the form of radiators, judiciously placed to respect the building's heritage value.
The building has intensive ventilation, with on-demand regulation of air flows. Thermal wheels also serve to recover heat from the extraction air.
