Project description

Start Campus is developing a 1.2 GW IT data center campus in Portugal, creating one of the largest and most sustainable ecosystems with an innovative seawater cooling solution from a decommissioned power plant's infrastructure, optimising energy efficiency and sustainability.

Our Input
We are partnering with Jacobs in all MEP design for the building SIN02 and electrical substations, supporting design development in phases RIBA 2 and 3.

Key Features
With a total combined investment value of €8.5bn, the project will use 100% renewable energy and targets an industry-leading PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.1 and a WUE (Water Usage Effectiveness) of 0 by harnessing the cooling power of the ocean. The SIN02 data centre is being designed and constructed with the target of achieving LEED Platinum status.
