Project Description
Smits van Burgst is working on the transformation of a historic “farm” bunker on a military base near Schaarsbergen into a sustainable healthcare center for the Defensie Gezondheidszorg Organisatie (DGO).Commissioned by the Defensie Ondersteuningscommando (DOSCO) and the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf, Smits van Burgst collaborated with Voorberg Bouwkunde to deliver both mechanical and electrical designs, while Voorberg Bouwkunde oversaw the architectural work. The project seeks to align with modern healthcare standards while honoring the building's unique historical character. To ensure its longevity, sustainable solutions have been integrated into the design. At present, various studies have been completed, and contracts finalized, paving the way for the upcoming tender process.
